COURSE OVERVIEW
Are you looking to improve your understanding of CDM (Construction, Design and Management) Regulations and how it relates to garden design and landscape construction projects?
This is an essential course for both garden designers and landscape contractors which aims to identify the new and existing requirements and the guidance you need to ensure you comply.
The new CDM (Construction Design Management) regulations came into force on April 6th 2015. There are several changes that will affect the duties of designers and contractors. This includes the removal of the role of CDM co-ordinator and the introduction of the new role of Principal Designer. The new regulations extend the prescribed duties into more work with domestic clients.
Principal Designers will be required to co-ordinate H&S aspects of the design in the preconstruction phase and liaise with the Principal Contractor to help in the planning, monitoring and co-ordination of the construction phase.
This is a highly interactive course taught through case studies and open classroom discussion and a practical exercise scenario.

Overview of Health and Safety Legislation
CDM 2015 overview
Duty holder responsibilities and appointments: Clients, Principal Designers, Designers, Principal Contractors and Contractors
Notification of projects
Preparation of pre-construction information
The elimination, reduction and control of risks through design
Planning, managing and monitoring construction work.. construction phase plans.
Construction phase plan requirements.
Health and Safety file requirements.
LEARNING FORMAT
This is a highly interactive course taught through case studies and open classroom discussion and a practical exercise scenario. There is an opportunities post course to engage with the trainer if the participant has any future queries about CDM
GOOD TO KNOW
Free membership access (worth £50) to The Landscape Library for 6 months, for all course participants once they have attended a TASK Industry course (includes access to training resources, articles, features, templates, publications, advice notes, cross section drawings and mentorship) . Lunch is not included, we recommend you bring your own packed lunch for each day

There is currently no accommodation available at Lower End Farm for TASK students. There are plenty of local accommodation possibilities, please contact us for a range of options.
